Marex is a Norwegian boat manufacturer known for its modern craftsmanship, long boat life and impeccable designs. Over four decades have passed since the first Marex motorboat was launched in Norway. Its original shipyard was founded in 1973 in Grimstad, a small town on the southern coast of Norway.

Its founder and CEO for more than 20 years was Eyvin Aalrud, and shortly after its founding, the Marex shipyard became a success thanks to Eyvin’s vision for the future. Marex has remained a family business, gradually becoming one of Europe’s most trusted boat manufacturers in a very volatile business. The company today is owned and run by two sons of the founder: Espen and Thomas. Both brothers were born into the Boat industry and have been driven by boundless passion for boats and the family business since they took over in 1989.
