Windy is in the process of designing an innovative 38-foot model, seeking to capture a broader segment of the profitable adventure boat market, under the name Windy SR38.

This new design will be available in both inboard and outboard versions, broadening its market appeal. The inboard models will be equipped with two powerful Volvo Penta D6-440 DPI diesel engines at the stern. On the other hand, the outboard variant is expected to be the preferred choice for consumers, thanks to its superior performance and the advantage of more storage space.

A great power

Equipped with the powerful 450 hp Yamaha XTO V8 or the 400 hp Mercury Verado V10 engine, the Windy SR38 is expected to reach speeds of up to 48 knots and 46 knots, respectively. This model follows in the wake of the recent Windy 37 Shamal and Windy 34 Alizé in terms of exterior design, the work of renowned Norwegian designer Espen Øino, known for his collaboration with German superyacht manufacturer Lürssen.

The design, complemented by full glass side panels and sliding doors on both sides of the operator’s platform, provides comprehensive protection for the forward section of the cab. Another notable addition is the folding bulwarks at the rear, which extend to increase the available deck space.

This area provides access to the bathing platform and features a sunbathing area, available on both inboard and outboard versions. In addition, the outboard models feature a large compartment under the sundeck area, designed to accommodate docking stations for two Sea Bobs.

A state-of-the-art interior

The interior design has been entrusted to the British studio Design Unlimited, recognized for its work on several Sunseeker projects. One of the most innovative features of the Windy SR38 is its semi-open hardtop that connects the windshield to a pair of eye-catching radar arches over the center of the boat.

The Windy SR38 will make its debut at the 2024 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show.
